An Israeli woman with Canadian family has died, the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs says.The centre says the family of Tiferet Lapidot has asked that the development be shared with the media. (AP) — Gender-affirming surgery for minors would be banned in Wisconsin under a Republican-sponsored bill up for final approval in the GOP-controlled Legislature on Tuesday.Democratic Gov. Tony Evers has vowed to veto the measure. CHICAGO — A 40-year-old woman was fatally shot after an altercation with a man on the city's South Side.The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 8200 block of South Drexel. Police said the woman was in a verbal altercation outside of her house, when a man shot her and fled the scene.The woman was shot in the chest and transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead.The medical examiner has identified the woman as Lekeysha Taplet. Pedestrian struck and killed on DuSable Lake Shore Drive; southbound lanes closed at North Avenue No one is in custody. CHICAGO — It's a show that many generations of Chicagoans got to see as children, and now it's making a comeback with a whole new look in 2023. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus is back after a six-year hiatus that began in 17 as the company is rolling out a new show to appeal to the next generation of fans. WASHINGTON COUNTY, Mo. - A 10-year-old girl is dead, and a man and three other children were hurt in a crash in Washington County.Police say the driver lost control in a curve on Highway 21 near Furnace Creek Road Monday morning and hit a tree. ST. LOUIS - A St. Louis man pleads guilty to a double murder in the Central West End.A man and his seven-year-old daughter were killed. They were in a parked car on Laclede Avenue in January 2021. 30-year-old Javonn Nettles pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. He was sentenced to ten years in prison. Pickleball noise level exceeds ordinance; country club remains unable to play Nettles was originally charged with first-degree murder, but his trial was canceled twice because former prosecutor Kim Gardner's office was not ready. New Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore says the current plea deal is not perfect, but it holds Nettles accountable for the murders.An accomplice, André Anderson, is still awaiting trial in the case.
